FRIDAY TALKS : MIKROLET DRIVER

I have a plan that I'll post or update my blog at lease once a week, so I want to make my treading as FRIDAY TALKS !! I'll share what I did for a whole week (not what I did but what I learn from the other). For today, I'll share about what I talked about this morning with my "private" MIKROLET DRIVER. :) 

Mikrolet is one of our public transportation. In Indonesia we have a lot of public transportation, such as angkot, bajaj, bemo, odong-odong (that one looks like bemo but I think bigger), commuter line, transjakarta, kopaja, metromini, mayasari, patas, and another name of bus ! We also have TAXI and ojek (we called that for public motorcycle) and online ojek ^^

So, this morning I took a mikrolet to went to my office, I am alone and I take the front seat because I still not familiar with my office area. He asked me like he didn't want to be trap in that kind of silent ! So, he told me about his stories and what he think about that. I am quite nervous because I just worked for 5 days and I can't be late T.T but, he took a really long traffic in front of the market. So, we talked a lot during that time.

He think that now JAKARTA is too crowd and too much vehicle in the road. For, mikrolet their system not that good because not only one corporation that manage all of them but there are a lot of company and that own car has their own label, you can see that when you passed by with this mikrolet, I never know about that before. so, I know that from him. He said that life in Jakarta is . tough when GO-jek and another online ojek come, everyone prefer to used that application because if you used that will be faster and cheaper sometimes. But, I just realize that online ojek isn't a public transportation. In Indonesia, public transportation used yellow license plate. But, he didn't really know what will happen to that mikrolet because of the issue that microlet/angkot will be discontinue. He said that might be will help for the first time, because of the traffic will be decrease because there isn't a mikrolet/angkot that will stay in the same place for a really long time just to wait a passenger we called that "ngetem", but that won't be that long. I said that in Jakarta everything that "BOOMING" will be rapidly grow, such as gojek. Now, I heard a lot of negative stories about gojek, and too much driver that didn't want to pick the passenger because too far and if they stay in that place longer maybe he will get more than if he pick that kind of passenger :( I tried to used GO-FOOD and when I said that I want that "nasi padang" but he didn't buy that because he said that the restaurant was closed, so when I came to that restaurant they said that their restaurant never closed except during idul fitri. And when I received the bill, I think the price is lower than what I put on that program, so he made up the price T.T ok, back to that mikrolet driver, he asked me about the future if he want to become that driver but I said that will be better if he won't because we really don't know about the future. I don't know how long that job will be promising, so I told that driver that during this time is really hard to get a job so just be thankful for everything. 

What I learnt from that driver are we never know about what happen next, how we can face that future, and everything can changes during that period. What you need to do is keep going and never stop to learning. life is about learning. It isn't only about the brain but how to face the problem.

I got a JOB !!

Finally, I got a job. I started working on monday and today was my third day :) I really don't know but I think I want to do this job more than ever ^^ It really look like my dream job. I believe that GOD's plans are the best for me. 

Yeah, I never be rejected during my university days, everything that I want I always got that jobs/position. I think that I can do that not only by HIS grace but that were because of me. I realize that a lot of things happen during my "waiting" time to get a job. Sometimes, they called me to do an additional test but I was on a trip or a course :") so, I can't have that opportunity twice. Okay, I did my best but I don't know why they didn't accept me :( I learnt a lot during that time, I know that I am not perfect and GOD can make me feel like that I am nothing, I really don't know but I hope from nothing I can became someone that will be become something. But, being humble is the key of success !! What you did and what you have can't give you a really good path to be success, but when GOD leads your way sometime you'll felt that why GOD did that things in my life :") you have your plans but GOD didn't approve that plan in your life :( I felt like that before, I dreamt really big before but I never count GOD first for my priority :") I did my best and I know about everything that I did is really worth to be something that I can proud about that ! But, God said that you must be humble, because you can't become someone like now if GOD didn't provide that for you :")

I am quite amazed when I know about what I will do on my job now ! and I really love that job desk ^^ God provide the best for me and I am really thankful about that ^^

Love Festival (30th years anniversary Kahitna)

Hey !! Last Saturday, I came to Love Festival which is a concert to celebrated 30th years anniversary for Indonesian Musician, Kahitna. Their song is really lovely and I love their songs ^^ But, I didn't have that much money so I just came and watched some of them (not all of them) 

I got a special price ticket because of #SAHABAT5ROMEO ^^ thanks to pepew and 5ROMEO ^^ #lol. I always came and I never know that much about Indonesian Songs :') I know most of 90's songs but not the new song, I really enjoyed when I heard 90's songs last Saturday.

Before I came to this festival I came to Korean Preforming Arts that I'll update later, so I came late and I can't watched TULUS and RAN that everyone said that they are really good. So, when I arrived I have a trouble because I brought my SLR T.T I didn't know that I can't brought that camera :( So, I called my friend and He went to us. We wait to 5ROMEO (check their new song Here) as known as our friend !!! yeah one of them is our friend ^^ and then we went to another room and watched the groove. I sang their song without knowing that song is their song. So, when I came that song really means so much for me ^^ 

Check that song on this youtube link :) That's Indonesian song, but the music is really good :D that song told us about LOVE ! #lol. But when we came their show just ended :( oh damn !! so, we move to another room to watched Isyana Sarasvati, I also never know her song but her voice is really good and the range of her voice is awesome !! really awesome !!! check her song by click this link, she played a piano and then she fall and everyone quite shock !! We watch most of her perform, but we moved to RAISA room !!! yey !! I never saw her but I love her song, Could It Be !! Hear that now !! I really love her and she is really lovely and pretty with her pink dress ^^ But, I don't know most of her song, so I moved to watched PROJECT POP !! Because of they performed in Kahitna anniversary, so they sang this song !! they sang a lot of 90's songs and He is one of my favorite band during that time :)) But, after that I came back to my friend house ^^ we felt to tired that day :( We stand for a whole day :( But, that concert is really FUN !

KPOP VS AMERICAN STYLE !!

I heard a bunch of KPOP and AMERICAN MUSIC and I just want to share what I think about that.

I am not saying which one is better, I love both of them ^^

#1 Most of KPOP are a group, if you watched American/Western style most of them did their solo ^^

a bunch of KPOP group that debut, but only a little of them who success, that quite pity, to spot which one is the member sometime that quite hard because they have a lot of member and they look a like. I watched Mnet yesterday and I know some of them who did a comeback but I am not sure about the rest :) But, when you heard about western song you know who is the singer, because most if them is a soloist. And if there are some group, you can tell they name like 1D or maroon 5, that group only contains 5/6 members.

I can remember most of SM Entertainment, YG, JYP and CN BLUE company, but I don't know all of AOA member, I know APIK, T-ARA, KARA, and maybe some of them but I can't remember all of their member name, except if they came to join a reality show.

Sometimes, they look similar with their senior, so I can't tell which one they are, and sometime with their own member like red velvet I still can't say which one is irene or seulgi.

#2 KPOP is about something sexy and cute concept, but western song I think I heard a lot of mellow song and their concept is more FUN & FREE !

I just watched whatever that I want to watched, if you watched KPOP music most of them used a really mini outfit and that good because their body also that good and that okay. KPOP industry set their adult artist to do sexy concept, for a newbie they set to look pure & cute, but if that concept didn't fit them so they change to sexy. The costume, stage and their hairstyle sometime is horrible and too outstanding, I really don't know why they change their concept every time T.T I love their normal style, such as G DRAGON, he is so handsome without that weird style. I love BIG BANG song, I love their concept now but I really hate during that FANTASTIC BABY period. #lol

Western outfit is quite minim too, but I didn't think that they want to look sexy. That's normal I think for western and I love that they just put a make up and everything look natural. most of their MV is more realistic ^^ no in studio concept. 

Both of them have their own type of music and that quite similar.

#3 FANS !! THE EXTREME FANS 

KPOP fans that extreme is really really annoying, they called them sesaeng fans.

I really don't know that much about western fans culture but most of them when I read an article about their relationship status that not that much, when we talked about kpop they will made that singer or whoever they are being uncomfortable about that situation like taeyon & baekhyun case when they officially said that they were in relationship.

THIS IS WHAT THAT CRAZY SESAENG DID !! 

I can't say that much about this because I am just a normal fans that can e move to one and another artist the other day. I have some of my friends who really love and a fan of them and I think they have their own reason why they love them and that their personal view. 

I didn't have any intention to say bad or in this post I said that western culture is better, but that not what I want to say but I just want to share what I think, I love both of them I love watching K-DRAMA and a lot of HOLLYWOOD movie, so I didn't want to say which one better ^^ 

EARLY VALENTINE DATE !

Hello, valentine decoration is all around ^^

This valentine I am not celebrate with my uni friends or high school friends, and I don't have someone special anyway. So, I spent my 13th February with attending a performance and concert & I'll stay at my friend house ^^ yey !! Finally, I can watch a concert until the end of the show :')

Movie Trends !

Yesterday, I used my free time to met with my lecture, But I think that will be a waste of time if I just came and back to my home. So, I decided to watched dead pool ! that movie is really famous this day !! I watched some thriller about another movie and I find some similarity.

First, that movie is about HERO who is a friend before but become a rivals !

Second, everything is about mutant and if you heard about that mutant makes you thinking that mutant is something that really bad !

#1 Superman vs Batman

I am not a fan of DC heroes, so I don't know that much about that but the one that I know both of them are someone who did something good for the people.

But, when I watched that Batman become a really "bad man" because of that dark side people want Superman to help them T.T

#2 Captain America : Civil War

Captain America vs Iron Man ? OH NO !

They became a friend for 2 sequel (Avengers)

and now they will become an enemy ! I hate that. I really don't know about Iron Man that in his own movie looks that he won't fight anymore but he is everywhere now. 

I really love marvel movie especially spiderman & ironman. I always watched marvel movie, like what I did yesterday. I never know about dead pool before but I watched that because of marvel.

I know that DC and Marvell is a competitor and most of that previous film I think Marvel movie stayed longer in Indonesia Theater (Cinema), but I don't know but I prefer to watched the second one ^^

The other movie that will coming soon in cinema is X MAN !! another X MAN, I think the last movie will be the end of X MAN like my favorite spiderman. :(

But, I think I won't watch that movie because I really don't like when they used a bible story but that isn't something good. That the same thing that happen to that mutant things >.< that can become a brainwasher to the one that didn't know about the truth.

P.S : This post is only my opinion, I don't have any intention to claim that will be good or not.

LIFE IS NOT EASY

I took that pic when I came back to my House yesterday after I celebrate CNY. Why I use this picture ? 

I want to say that this life look like that your life path maybe stuck, but the other try to used a simple way to go there with that kind of "cheating". In this case I turn back to the alternative way and I can't stand with that traffic so I decide to use another alternative way to Jakarta via Bogor.

But, I heard from my aunt that the normal road is not that bad and the passed quickly from that road. With that case, I learn that if I'm stuck that will be okay to take a way back and use the other way to get your target, maybe that path will be harder because that not the big road, but that will lead you to the same goal, sometime you need to take a longer way to go if you used that alternative way. But, the other thing that I learn is I have a fear that I will find that traffic way once more, so I take a longer route, but in fact that way is okay. That just what I think in my mind.

Today, I have a talk with my friend and that make me feel like empty :( I have graduate since last august (the end of august) I think I officially graduated on September and I have that Graduation ceremony on November. I take a holiday on mid of November and the rest of December. Yeah... some of my friends already have their job, they started working from mon to fri and the other one already decided to move to the other company. I'm still on this path that I still waiting for a job. It didn't means that I didn't try but sometimes the time is not give me a chances. I said that might be not my fate to got that job ^^ But, I have another opportunity. I am not sure but I also feel like that I enjoyed my life, I love my life but I also feel really empty when I heard the other already have a job.

I don't know what I need to do, what is my real dream job, and what is my mission that I need to be in this WORLD what is my life calling ?? I asked that many times in my mind and I know that I always do like whatever that I wanna do, I never asked GOD for the real way for me. I always did everything and after I got that the other thing that make me sad is I always go abroad whatever the company that I want called me T.T I really don't know what is GOD PLAN for me, but I believe that GOD always have a greater plan than my plan. 

So, I think that when you have some question about your life, ask GOD for His GUIDE to LEAD your way, not what you want but what GOD want to happen in your life. Be THANKFUL for everything that happen in your life, sometime that will be tough but everything happen for a reason ^^ I don't know now but I think now I'll ask everything to God first so whatever that I do only for glorify His name, not about me and myself but about GOD ! :)

This Chinese New Year

GONG XI GONG XI GONG XI GONG !!! Yeayy !! I'm waiting for this moment for a whole year --> why ?? I want to get some money to go somewhere to traveling or hang out with my friends ^^

Being half (Chinese - Indonesia) and not doing that kind of tradition because we can't do that in our religion, and I also never do that since I was born so I never know about that, but some of my friend did that during CNY so I heard that a lot before. The only thing that I really want to get during this CNY is ANGPAO !! the red envelope with the money inside. ^^ 

When I was younger I really like to collected a really cute and shape envelope but when I grow up I think that kind of envelope is nothing the only important thing is something inside that envelope #lol. The other thing that I love is we come to the other house have a really meaningful gathering that talk with our family, most of my family who stay abroad back to Indonesia during CNY. We ate a lot of things that my grandma prepare for us and most of that dish containing PORK, in west java like my house to eat PORK we need to go somewhere in JAKARTA and only the certain Chinese restaurant served that. So, It's like a party because we eat like a traditional dish not only bacon or that kind of fried pork or something we usually eat during a day. 

But, this year I think that quite different than the other years, because I need to came back to my hometown in Sukabumi and I need to visit my Kupoh who feels really sick now. Yeah, they are already old this time. Time flies too fast, last year they can came to Jakarta and celebrate with us, but this year everyone came to Sukabumi to visit her and this year we have CNY on MONDAY so, we don't have a really long holiday because the next day we need to do our routines and I just arrived at my house around mid night T.T 

But, I think when you grow up become an adult you'll know that money can't buy everything and the one that you need to have is a FAMILY :) I learnt that this CNY ^^ I love that angpao but I love my FAMILY more that that ^^

Thailand Food Part 1

I watched this video that show me about PAD THAI ! yeah Pad Thai. I tried a lot of Pad Thai before. But the one that I love the most is Pad Thai from Bamai Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus. 

Let's start to talk about Thai Food, are you hungry ? This is exactly the time during this weekend to feel hungry because you just woke up and It's already afternoon. 

1. Pad Thai

THB 70 (big portion)

Pad Thai look like a normal fried noodle, yeah that look really like that but when you eat that you'll feel not so fried noodle #lol. They have a lot of kind of Pad Thai with a pork (moo), chicken (gai), surrounded by the egg (ko khai), shrimp (kung), and just pad thai without anything. Most of that street food pad thai used a red sauce so the noodle looks more orange or red, I think they used some tomato sauce. Overall, most of pad thai taste the same but with different occasion. I alr tried some pad thai from street stall, hotel, night market, just market, and canteen from my university. That quite nice but some of them quite oily and too sour sometime so I can't eat that. But, Pad Thai is a must to try if you come to Thailand. That might me not that good or around that expectation but that a must, when you eat that daily you will missed that sometime. The first thing that make shock is they give me a sugar to add to that Pad Thai. Trust me you must to used that sugar with the chili and mix that !! That the best taste that you can have that without that, if you want some sour taste just squash that lime, but I never eat that vegetable, I am not sure that vegetable or not but my Thai friend also didn't eat that.

I tried Pad Thai in my home country after I came back to Indonesia, but the taste still not so good as good as in Thailand ^^

2. Khao Pad (Fried Rice)

Pad means FRIED so everything that has pad on that name means something that you fried. 

Fried Rice is a common dish that you can find everywhere you go, but trust me everything taste different, when I tried to cooked with my friend with the same ingredient that taste quite diferent, I don't know why but this theory just happen to this food ! FRIED RICE.

Okay, let's back to Khao Pad, this khao pad also have some kind like pad thai you can order everything as a top up and the famous one from Thailand is Fried Rice with pineapple. Because Thai Food always taste sweet and sour, so the best taste is when you eat that with the fruit and that will taste more fresh. you can't order something not too oily in street food, but you can find that in your hotel or some good restaurant. But, Thai Street Food still the BEST !!!

3. Thai Noodle (without Pad Thai)

Thai also have a boiled noodle, but the portion of that noodle is quite small, one of my friend go to a really famous noodle restaurant in victory monument, that quite cheap around THB 12/portion but you need to eat at lease 3-4 bowls to feel full. But, if you only want try a normal noodle you can buy around THB 25-40. I don't really like this kind of noodle because the broth is too sweet for me and I tried that because you can choose your own noodle, they have a glass noodle, rice noodle (small like pad thai, and the one that looks bigger like in this photo), and yellow noodle. They called all of that noodle with kwetiaw but all of that kind of noodle have their own name, because I just want to eat that yellow noodle when I missed my Indonesian food so I just remember that name, they called that bakmie like Indonesian called that. You also can add another topping like chicken, duck, fish cake, pork, and boiled dumpling.

4. Sausage with a sticky rice !!

I am not saying that this stall is the best, I just want to show you that kind of stall.

For the sausage you only need to pay THB 10 each and sometime THB 15 each, for the sticky rice you need add more THB 5-10 for 1 plastic portion. This kind of food is help me to survive when I think I need to save my money and this THAI SAUSAGE is make me crazy. You'll really like that kind of sausage, most of them containing pork, but you can find some chicken sausage with cheese inside that. and that kind of sausage damn nice. #lol

You can find this kind of stall everywhere in Thailand, everywhere in the market and just everywhere around. This sausage is THE MOST that I think you need to try !

5. Chicken Rice (Khao Man Gai)

This chicken rice is just a normal chicken rice, but this chicken rice tastier that Singapore one ^^

you can order this chicken rice with or without the blood and you can mix the chicken with the fried one, some of that chicken rice stall also sell a red pork with a sweet sauce. That also nice to try. 

When you eat this chicken rice you will get the sauce, so you need to tried that sauce as well, I can't eat spicy food so I can't eat that chili sauce, but I can eat with that Thailand Sauce and that quite addicted, because that sauce taste sour, sweet, and spicy. If you find a chicken rice with a yellow one that also taste the same with the white one. 

In Indonesia we have that kind of yellow rice, so when I saw that I think that will feels like I came back home to eat that yellow rice, but that rice taste just like a normal chicken rice.

P.S : For thai food that using a really eye catching color they said that safe & that color are from their flower and I believe them because when I tried that food that taste is too natural and I can't stand with the smell is too "flower"

Biotechnology for Indonesia

I never think that I'll be back to Hua Hin after that long long story happen to me before during my internship before :') But, this case is quite special because I came to join Asia Leadership Course by Cornell Alliance for Science.

Someone said that if you have something bad and make you want do that anymore you must to make another memories to cover that bad memories. I did that for sure ! Now, I really love Hua Hin. Not because all of that facility and the life that I never imagine. I started to know more about Biotechnology Field in Indonesia and around South East Asia. I learn about Biotechnology and half of my university days always stayed in our laboratory. But, I never think about how the people in Indonesia think about that, I just thinking about myself and anything around me and another career and research. But, during that course I thought more about my country. I noticed something that in Indonesia we have a really big knowledge gap, that one of my long term mission to reach unreachable place in Indonesia and teach them, so they can help each other and will have their own better life for better future. I never think that I'll do something about my "BIOTECHNOLOGY" things for them. But, when I came back to Indonesia, I read a newspaper and said that we can't plant that paddy because of long summer, and we can't import a lot of corn but because of that issue their target to provide Indonesia Citizen won't be enough and because of that corn stuff the price of Chicken is quite high. 

When I saw that "Chicken" problem, I think about my thesis. IRIAP already do that research about 3 or 4 years ago but no one know about that. That can be the solution for that problem, we used that coconut meal or palm kernel meal & used our mannanase for poultry feed addition and that SAFE ! I really don't know how to communicated that "science information" for sure, but I think that will be nice if we used that BIOTECHNOLOGY as one of our solution for national problem. 

I am not that expert in that field, I just a fresh graduate from faculty of Biotechnology but I hope that IT WILL BE FROM INDONESIA TO INDONESIA :) 

This leadership course help me to organized everything on my mind and I hope I can do my best for my country with my knowledge.
